Wondering if a smaller, intimate wedding might be a better wedding day for you?
There are so many reasons couples here at The St Vrain opt for a smaller sized and more intimate wedding with under 100 guests! The key is knowing yourself and your partner well enough to know what will feel most comfortable and least stressful for the two of you! After all, this is actually YOUR BIG DAY! Planning your wedding is the perfect time to really dive in as a team and learn how to prioritize and plan for what makes the most sense for you as a couple!
We thought you might appreciate knowing what we’ve learned from couples here at The St Vrain! So here are the reasons we hear most for hosting a smaller more intimate wedding!
#1 We really like our people!
Meaning, we see ourselves as people who have fewer very close friends rather than good friends and lots of fun acquaintances. One of the top priorities we hear from couples on this topic is being able to spend significant time and conversation with all of their guests. So much easier for some when the guest list and Bridal Party are smaller!
#2 I’m an introvert -OR- I’m in love with an introvert!
Such a good way to begin your marriage by recognizing how you or your partner are going to most enjoy this day you’ve been dreaming of and planning for! Crowds can suck the air out of an introvert’s lungs and make for a very long day of powering up just to make it to the grand exit! Not really the kind of memorable anyone wants for themselves or their partner on their wedding day, right?
#3 The budget.
Most of us have a budget which is a great tool for spending time really figuring out what your priorities as a couple are! We’ve found that couples with smaller guest counts often value hosting a nicer wedding for a smaller amount of people over a larger wedding where they may have to have a less expensive dinner, fewer florals or go without signature cocktails. The reasons and priorities vary, but it can be a quality over quantity decision.
#4 Overwhelmed by over 100 guests.
Planning and preparing for over 100 feels monumental for some. There is something about that number. We get it. It is probably the largest party you will ever be inviting people to! We can’t say it enough, “Give yourselves the gift of hiring a professional wedding planner to help you easily navigate through the details of your big day!” You can enlist the services of a pro at different levels depending on what your needs are and available time is when it comes to planning. Working with a pro will give you the gift of enjoying the months leading up to your wedding as well as the day of your wedding.
#5 When guest counts are limited by reasons beyond your control.
This has obviously become quite a hot topic in 2020! Smaller weddings during time of of national crisis or (wait for it) a pandemic are more likely to be able to be held than weddings that exceed that 100 person mark! So if you’re super risk averse and would prefer to cover your bases, a smaller guest count and a carefully curated wedding day may be the most enjoyable thing for you both!
At the end of the day, make your day beautifully reflect the two of you and you’ll remember it with all the feels!
